PERSONAL RIDING HISTORY
Due to the nature of the job of my parents (my father is riding teacher FN, my mother managed the business part of the company) I grew up with horses and riding. My parents managed the riding school in Icking near Munich from 1972 to 1979. After this time they owned the riding stable Gut Buchberg until 1986.
I had my basic education with my parents’ horses, which were trained for the highest classes, jumping as well as dressage. I also participated at the instruction for our trainees.
During the time at Gut Buchberg, I was member of our equestrian acrobatic group and I took part at some courses for driving carriages. There, I began to take part at horse shows at the weekends and during the week I was riding my parents’ horses at home. In this time I had a lot of good rankings in jumping competitions, from the class A up to the class M, including the Bavarian Championship for Juniors.
In 1987, I started my commercial education and for this reason I was no longer able to go to the horse shows intensively.
I finished my commercial education in 1989 successfully with the examination. Thereafter I applied for a job at the pony farm in Holzkirchen (South of Munich), owned by family Hohenadl. I got the job and worked from August 1st, 1989 until December 31st, 1991 at this farm. I was responsible for 50 horses and the organization of the riding school, gave lessons to beginners and advanced riders. Due to the death of the owner, I had to leave and to look for a new job.
I found a new task at the “Riding Stable Icking”, where I built up the riding school. I gave riding lessons with 11 horses and we organized various courses for children and adults, in Germany called “Reitabzeichen”, “kleines Hufeisen” etc. Furthermore I organized different courses in dressage, jumping and cross country. Another part of my work was the office organization.
In spring 1993, I was engaged for 6 weeks at the Bavarian Breeding Association to train the young horses for the spring auction. Working with young horses was a good experience for me.
In 1993, I went overseas in order to work in California on a horse farm where we trained good young horses for selling – I had the chance to train with the Olympic cader in California.
When I came back to Germany I worked for a big insurance firm, advancing from Field Staff to Sales Manager, to Area Director. In 1987 I owned as General Agent an office of the “Nürnberger Versicherung” in Munich with 3 employees. For the “Nürnberger Versicherung” I was the representative at international horse competitions or at horse fairs.
Besides this General Agency, I was able to train my horses and I started several horses in jumping competitions very successfully, but my love is riding in cross-country-events. Every year in spring, before the competitions started, I went to the different trainers to take lessons in dressage, jumping and cross country. All my horses for the cross country I trained from 3 years old horses up to class L / or international CIC1*.
In November 2004, after 10 years working at the insurance my dream came true and I was able to build up the “Reitschule SportScheck” in the North of Munich. I own now 40 horses (35 school horses to train the riders at my school and 5 horses for competitions or for sale). Our team of 5 employees and 8 freelancers is busy on 12 hours per day, 7 days per week.
During the training for my cross-country-horses I take every chance to work with some of the best riders in this field and beside the daily work in my own stable I went to the several courses for preparing the young horses. My trainers are:
Andreas Dibowski (member Europ.Champ. / member Olymp. Games – and winner Olymp.Games / World Ranking List 2002 2.place / 2010 1.place)
